It is becoming clear to me that we could get results and drugs and tests and more breakthroughs if our clinical trials were bursting with participants. We have to do our part, ladies. Everyone with this disease should consider being in a clinical trial. It may or may not end up being the right choice, but we owe it ourselves, other warriors and our collective daughters to give it serious thought.

When I get up in the morning, I read the news for interesting things to report to you. I also check ovarian cancer bulletin boards to see what my sisters are talking about. This morning, I see a post that says, “No Doxil Available for Treatment Tomorrow.” My blood temp begins to simmer. Then I read the post and it is from a woman receiving treatment down the road at UVA. That is where my doctor is. That woman could be me. The blood is now boiling.

CancerDancer travelled to the nation’s capital last week to shake Congress by the shoulders and….no, actually we were there to attend the Ovarian Cancer National Alliance (OCNA) Conference. We rolled out our belly dancer, our six-foot-tall Dancing Girl cutout, and vibrant volunteer presence, and had a great time at a serious conference. Let me tell you about it.
